I apologise for not posting to www.libellules.ch in French, but my French is not very good - it has been a long time since I took French in school!

I am one of the creators of Snapact, and I would like to mention that all feedback is appreciated and encouraged.

I would also like to thank you for posting your positive opinion about Snapact on this website - yours is the first review of the Snapact Photo Manager 1.1 that we have noticed online. Seeing how we only released version 1.1 yesterday, that is quite the accomplishment! Very fast.

Hello Kramer, it's nice to see the authors here (post in english, no problem).
We like sharing freeware programs, they need to be known and many people like testing. If we all had the exact same programs, everything would be really boring.

Bon, ben un test très rapide... Attention, contrairement à ce que le commentaire de VampiroKC pourrait faire croire, ce n'est pas substitut à ACDsee. Le programme est incapable d'éditer une image, il a besoin d'un complément. Il sert donc juste à circuler dans ses photos et à gérer son compte en ligne. Il semble donc plus proche d'un Picasa.
Testé un répertoire de 8000 images (3 Go) (oui, il faudrait que je fasse du rangement), il est très lent à ouvrir et commence par les premières images. Il est de ce point de vue là très inférieur à Irfranview ou XnView qui sont peut être moins jolis à regarder mais plus efficaces (ces deux là permettant de scanner et éditer en plus les images !).

Premierement, merci! Thank you very much for your comments. The team at Snapact welcomes feedback, regardless of whether it is positive or more towards the 'constructive' range of commentary. There is always something to be learned from what others say.

What you say is true (for the moment), the Snapact Photo Manager doesn't perform quite up to par in terms of dealing with large numbers of photos. I am sure that you will agree, however, that we've had quite a bit LESS time to perfect and improve Snapact - but we intend to!

As far as editing goes, we do intend to improve our editing functionality, but at the moment we strongly believe that focusing on core strengths is important. We want basic editing features in the Snapact Photo Manager to work well, but we also believe that other paid or free editing tools (such as Paint.NET - http://www.getpaint.net/) do photo editing far better than most tools like Snapact, ACDSee or Picasa could ever do. That is simply because that is their focus and their strength.

Still, your comments are valid. You do point out areas that we will look to improve in future releases of the Snapact Photo Manager.

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your thoughts on Snapact. I hope that you choose to take another look at us in the future.

Bon, quand je disais "éditer" je parlais surtout de scanner et réduire la taille (crop). Des fonctions simples qui peuvent se passer d'un Gimp ou d'un Paint?net Je n'ai pas non plus trouvé de possibilité se créer des répertoires favoris. Il semblerait que la mode soit de gérer ses images par tags mais personnellement, je considère que ça rajoute du travail plus qu'autre chose.

My apologies for misunderstanding what you meant.

There are (as Falkra's article above mentions) simple editing functions, but yes, there are a few missing. We do intend to add some missing editing features. We are also considering adding batch editing features as well - the future will bring improvements and change.
